Makassar / Manado
Morning is Better
The 12 Days Trans Sulawesi Tour starts from Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi, and ends in Manado in North Sulawesi. But of course, you may reverse the itinerary to begin in Manado.

After breakfast at hotel, pickup by your Driver and Guide, meeting services and transfer to the Traditional Tomohon market where you will see the morning activity in the Traditional Market of Tomohon. Continue with visiting Mahawu Vulcano Mountain. Arrival in Parking area of Mahawu mountain, walking up the see the crate for aproximately 10-15 minutes. When you reach the crater, you can walk around the crater to see the magnificent view on the other side of the crater. Back to the Car and continue the trip by visiting Temboan Hills ( passing Rurukan Village along the way) or also known as The Hidden Paradise in Tomohon with a great view over the Tondano Lake. From Temboan Hill, continue to Tondano Lake where you will have Lunch on the Tondano Lake surround with the Carp Fish Farm. After lunch, proceed with the tour visiting Pulutan Village, a cottage industry for making pottery.
From Pulutan Village continue to Woloan Village, where you can see the Minahasan Style Houses being built, knock down style, ready for delivery or shipping. The tour will be not complete without see the Linow Lake, the changing color lake where you can enjoy Coffee or Tea in the side of the lake (This refreshment including in the package tour).

We were a party of three oldies, well two of us in their 70’s and one in her 50’s, and we booked IndoGlobal for a 10 day road trip from Makassar to Manado via Tana Toraja in September 2017. It’s a long trip by road and the roads are in places are in bad condition but our guide Hernan Halim, who was also our driver, was very respectful of our ages and made sure that we were not overtired at any stage plus advised us if he thought any activity may be too strenuous for us. He was excellent in every way very attentive to our needs and comfort, gave clear explanations of the areas we passed through and was good company. He is very knowledgeable about the entire area and the attractions plus has many contacts that allow access to places a lone traveller may not know about or be able to visit. As it was a 10 day trip there are too many places to individually mention but I would recommend IndoGlobal and Hernan Halim to anyone wishing to see Sulawesi in depth. We were most thankful to have such a well-mannered and spoken guide.
