3 Days Orangutan Tour

Gunung Leuser National Park is one of the richest tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia. Covering up to 7927 km2 and straddling the border of North Sumatra and Aceh provinces, it is one of the last places on earth with critically endangered orangutans living in the wild. This region is also the habitat of other wildlife: Elephants, rhinos, tigers, siamangs, Thomas leaf monkeys, macaques and gibbons are just a handful of the thousands of species found in this unique eco-system. Together with Bukit Barisan Selatan and Kerinci Seblat National Parks, it is an UNESCO World Heritage Site (listed 2004), a Tropical Rainforest Heritage of Sumatra. IN 2011 it was placed on a list of world heritage sites in danger.

The National Park protects a wide range of ecosystems and is home for the endangered sumatran orangutan as well as for many other endangered animals.

The animality counts around 700 different species of animals like the sumatran orangutan,white and black gibbons, elephants,tigers,rhinos,thomas leaf monkeys, long tail and short tail macaques, toucans, moon snakes,lizards,hornbills,saltwater crocodiles,pheasants and numerous exotic bird species.

All of them find their last resort in the Gunung Leuser National Park.

DAY 01: MEDAN – BUKIT LAWANG (Bukit Lawang Cottages / Rindu Alam Hotel)
Arrival at Kuala Namu Int airport Airport Medan drive to Bukit Lawang with stop at several Plantation for rubber and Palm oil arrival at Bukit Lawang check in to hotel.

DAY 02: BUKIT LAWANG – FULL DAY TRACKING LEUSER PARK (B,L)
After breakfast walking to the jungle to start a jungle tracking to explore the nature of Leuser National park with their flora and fauna, the possibility to see Orang Utan on their own habitat and other kind of animal such as Thomas leaf monkeys, long tail macaque, gibbon, black gibbon and other kind of flora and fauna of tropical rain forest. This fullday tracking will finish in the afternoon and then return back to hotel.

Day 03: BUKIT LAWANG – MEDAN / AIRPORT (B)
After breakfast free at own leisure for swimming or walking and then drive to Medan arrival in Medan directly transfer to airport.
