Lore Lindu National Park is a forested protected area in Central Sulawesi. The area of the national park is 2,180 km² and it covering both lowland and mountain forests. It provides habitat to numerous rare species, including 77 bird species endemic to Sulawesi. The national park is designated as part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves. In addition to its rich wildlife, the park is also contains megaliths dating from before 1300 AD.
At surrounding the park there are 117 villages, from which 62 are located on the borders of the park and one is within the park. The local population belongs to the Kaili, Kulavi and Lore ethnic groups. There are also migrants from South Sulawesi, Java and Bali.
Endemic mammals include the Tonkean Macaque (Macaca tonkeana tonkeana), North Sulawesi babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis), Pygmy Tarsier (Tarsius pumilus), Dian’s Tarsier (Tarsius dianae), Sulawesi Bear Cuscus (Ailurops ursinus furvus), Sulawesi Dwarf Cuscus (Strigocuscus celebensis callenfelsi) and Sulawesi rat (Rattus celebensis). Endemic birds include the Maleo fowl (Macrocephalon maleo), Sulawesi Palm Civet (Macrogalidia musschenbroekii musschenbroekii). Reptiles and amphibians include the gold snake (Elaphe erythrura and E. janseni) and Sulawesian Toad (Bufo celebensis). The Xenopoecilus sarasinorum fish is endemic to Lake Lindu.
There are over 400 granite megaliths in the area, of which about 30 represent human forms. They are vary in size from a few centimeters to 4.5 meters. The original purpose of the megaliths is unknown. Other megaliths are in form of large pots (Kalamba) and stone plates (Tutu’na). Various archaeological studies have dated the carvings from between 3000 BC to 1300 AD.
The park is home to 227 bird species, of which 77 are found nowhere else on Earth. It make Lore Lindu National Park is one of the most favorite destination for Bird Watcher from all over the world. Wuasa in Napu Valley is one of the famous birding spot in Lore Lindu National Park. Here is some list of Birds that can be seen in Lore Lindu National Park:

Purple-bearded Bee-eater, Diabolical Nightjar, Grey-headed Imperial Pigeon, Rufous-throated Flycatcher, Blue-fronted Flycatcher, Maroon-backed Whistler, Malia, Olive-flanked Whistler, Sulphur-bellied Whistler, Streak-headed Dark-eye, Malia, Sulawesi Thrush, Small Sparrow-hawk, Red-eared Fruit-dove, Chestnut-backed Bush-warbler, Sulawesi Lesser Honey-eater, Rusty-bellied Fantail, Greater Honey-eater, Mountain Serin and Cinnabar Boobook. A part of the day birding along Padaeha roadside and Salibu forest for a good view of Yellow-and-green Lorikeet, Ornate Lorikeet, Sulawesi Goshawk, Sulawesi Blue Flycatcher, loboju Pale-headed Munia, Blue-tailed Bee-eater, White-shouldered Triller and Savanna Nightjar.
Day 01: Makassar – Palu (L,D)
After breakfast, transfer to Airport for your next destination to Palu via Makassar. Arrive in Palu, meeting service with our team and start driving by car approximately 3-4 hours to Lore Lindu National Park. We will try to check for some birds along the way if you are interest. Arrive in Wuasa Village, check in at Local Homestay for overnight. Lunch and Dinner will be serve at Homestay.
Overnight: Guest House or camp-site near park.
Day 02: Lore Lindu Megalith Tour (B,L,D)
Morning after breakfast, we will exploring Lore Lindu National Park (Napu and Doda Valley) for their megalith. The megalith tour of lore lindu will be conduct with a Car, and several places of the megalith will required some walking. Lunch will be provided in Lunch Box. Afternoon, return to Homestay in Wuasa for dinner and overnight
Day 05: Palu – Airport (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred-out to the airport for your flight onward.

Two days birding along Anaso track and the lake Tambing to see montane species such as Geomalia, Great Shortwing. Purple-bearded Bee-eater, Diabolical Nightjar, Grey-headed Imperial Pigeon, Rufous-throated Flycatcher, Blue-fronted Flycatcher, Maroon-backed Whistler, Malia, Olive-flanked Whistler, Sulphur-bellied Whistler, Streak-headed Dark-eye, Malia, Sulawesi Thrush, Small Sparrow-hawk, Red-eared Fruit-dove, Chestnut-backed Bush-warbler, Sulawesi Lesser Honey-eater, Rusty-bellied Fantail, Greater Honey-eater, Mountain Serin and Cinnabar Boobook.
